AMD introduced Radeon RX 6000S mobile graphics cards with reduced power consumption and more powerful Radeon RX 6000M

AMD introduced Radeon RX 6000S series mobile graphics gas pedals at CES 2022, and also announced new models of mobile graphics cards, which will complement Radeon RX 6000M series.

Radeon RX 6000S series mobile graphics cards are represented by three models: Radeon RX 6800S, Radeon RX 6700S and Radeon RX 6600S. The manufacturer has indicated that these solutions are designed for use in compact and thin laptops. Thickness of graphics chips is 20% less than M-series, and they are optimized for energy efficiency. The Radeon RX 6800S, Radeon RX 6700S and Radeon RX 6600S have a claimed power consumption rating of 100, 85 and 65W respectively.

The Radeon RX 6800S model is ready to deliver more than 100 frames per second in games at maximum graphics settings. The Radeon RX 6600S is claimed to deliver more than 80fps in games with high graphics settings. However, the manufacturer does not specify what screen resolution is in question. As part of the graphics chip model Radeon RX 6800S there are 32 processing units operating at a frequency of up to 1975 MHz. The card has 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with 128 bit bus support and an effective frequency of 16 GHz, as well as 32 MB of Infinity Cache, which in total provides a memory bandwidth of 256 GB/s for the main memory stack.

The Radeon RX 6700S and Radeon RX 6600S models use a CPU with 28 processing units. The first GPU runs at 1890 MHz, the second & ; at 1881 MHz. The Radeon RX 6700S model has 8GB of GDDR6 video memory, the younger Radeon RX 6600S & ; only 4GB. In both cases, the effective memory frequency is 14 GHz, it supports 128-bit bus and provides a bandwidth of 224 GB/s. In addition, the new products each have 32 Mbytes of Infinity Cache memory.

Radeon RX 6000M mobile graphics card series has been expanded with five new models at a time: Radeon RX 6850M XT, Radeon RX 6650M XT, Radeon RX 6650M, Radeon RX 6500M and Radeon RX 6300M. GPUs of the first three are based on 7nm process technology. The remaining two use the new 6nm node.

Radeon RX 6850M XT has 40 processing units (like Radeon RX 6800M), working in the frequency range from 2300 to 2463 MHz. The card has 12 GB of GDDR6 memory with 18 GHz effective bandwidth and 192-bit bus bit support, as well as 96 MB of dedicated Infinity Cache memory. The new system has a main memory bandwidth of 432 GB/s. The declared maximum power consumption of a graphics card is 165W.

Radeon RX 6650M XT and Radeon RX 6650M models have 32 and 28 GPUs respectively. New graphics chips operate in the frequency range from 2162 to 2222 MHz. Both cards have 8 GB of GDDR6 memory each, running at an effective frequency of 16 GHz and supporting 128-bit bus bit. They are also equipped with an additional 32 MB of Infinity Cache memory. The Radeon RX 6650M XT and Radeon RX 6650M models feature 256 GB/s memory bandwidth. And power consumption can vary from 80W to 120W. In the composition of models Radeon RX 6500M and Radeon RX 6300M uses a chip made on the new 6-nm process. In the first case it has 16 processing units. The younger model has 12 of them. The Radeon RX 6500M CPU frequency is 2191 MHz, the GPU of Radeon RX 6300M model runs at 1512 MHz. The first card has 4 GB of GDDR6 memory with 18 GHz effective frequency and 128-bit bus support, the second card is equipped with 2 GB of GDDR6 memory with the same effective frequency and bus bit rate. The Radeon RX 6500M also has 16 MB of additional Infinity Cache memory, the younger model & ; only 8 MB. The main memory stacks of the graphics cards have a bandwidth of 288 GB/s. AMD points out that gaming performance of Radeon RX 6850M XT model is up to 7% higher than that of Radeon RX 6800M. The results were obtained in lab tests with maximum graphics settings, as well as using 1080p and 1440p resolutions. Radeon RX 6650M XT and Radeon RX 6650M models, in turn, are up to 20% faster in games than Radeon RX 6600M. A model Radeon RX 6650M and Radeon RX 6500M manufacturer compares with a mobile GeForce MX450, against which the novelties are in games at 1080p up to 200% faster
