AMD has announced the official retail prices of Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX HEDT processors.
These chips were announced in March of this year.
For some time, they were offered exclusively in Lenovo's ThinkStation workstations.
Recently, AMD did release the processors to retail.Image source: AMDThe recommended price for the flagship 64-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX model is $6499.
That's $2509 more expensive than the consumer Ryzen Threadripper 3990X and $1100 more expensive than the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995X.
The 32-core Threadripper Pro 5975WX costs $3299 - $1300 more expensive than the previous generation Ryzen Threadripper 3970X and $550 more expensive than its Pro version.
The younger 24-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5965WX has a recommended price tag of $2399.
This is $1000 more expensive than the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X chip, which was not released in the Pro-version.Image source: Puget SystemsThe AMD company also announced that it has abandoned the release of consumer Ryzen Threadripper and now all chips will be released only in Pro variants, which differ various additional security systems for corporate users.Earlier it was reported that Threadripper Pro 5000WX processors can already be found, for example, in Chinese retail.
However, the chips price turned out to be a little bit overpriced against the announced recommended price.
The performance of the new processors is up to 45% higher than the competitors.
