The global PC market will collapse by nearly 10 percent in 2022

Gartner has released a fresh forecast for the global consumer PC and mobile market.

Personal computers, meanwhile, were up 11.0% to 342 million units, while handsets saw a 5.0% increase to 1.57 billion.
Tablet sales declined 0.8 percent to about 156 million units.
This year, the market is forecast to be in the red: total shipments of devices in all categories will decline by 7.6 percent.

The tablet segment is expected to decline by 9.0% to 142 million units.
As for cellular phones, according to analysts, their shipments will decrease by 7.1% - to 1.46 billion.If we consider only the direction of smartphones, the demand for them this year will fall by 5.8%.
At the same time, shipments of 5G devices in annual terms will jump by 29%, amounting to about 710 million units.
