AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X Review - Most Powerful CPUs

AMD launched the World's powerful processors Ryzen Threadripper 3960X and Ryzen Threadripper 3970X. So, a common question like “Is Threadripper 3970X good for gaming?” would be inappropriate to be asked. Because it is a HEDT which offers a stunning processing power for the hardest possible tasks on a computer. Adding these two “titan CPU” into their inventory, the company has now reached a point that they provide quality processors for every segment.

3D design, render, creating SFX, Professional Gaming, streaming… every demanding work is easy on TR 3970X. So you should think of this as an investment not just a part of your PC system.

The Threadripper series is meant to be the most powerful CPU of the brand. In that sense, Ryzen Threadripper 3970X is the second powerful TR member for now. We already gave useful information on TR 3990X which is the best performing member of the same family.

Threadripper 3970X Reached 5.75 GHz Clock Speed

It was announced that the tests were carried out on the MSI Creator TRX40 motherboard. The 3.7 GHz clock speed of the TR 3970X with 32 cores and 64 threads is known as the base clock value. While the base clock speed was 3.7 GHz, the boost technology accelerates the speed up to 4.5 GHz, when needed. As it is a model that has no multiplier lock, reports are coming from different sources about the clock speed after overclocking. Thus, after overclocking, a speed much higher than these values has been obtained. The CPU, when cooled with liquid nitrogen, was able to deliver 55% faster than the base clock speed after overclocking. Therefore, the speed of the processor was increased to 5.75 GHz. So, AMD set a new record in this field.

The processor, which uses the advantages of the 7 nm Zen 2 architecture, offers a very high-performance value, especially in heavily threaded applications.

Lastly, let's talk about the prices of the series, which brings the Intel and AMD race to a different dimension. The speed record-breaking Threadripper 3970X selling price was announced as $ 1,999. The Threadripper 3960X model, a sub-member of the series, was announced for $ 1,399.
