Ubuntu gaming laptop with AMD Ryzen processor and GeForce RTX graphics unveiled

European company Slimbook introduced a curious new product & ; a gaming-class laptop Titan equipped with a 15.6-inch QHD display (2560 × 1440 pixels) with a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

The hardware base of the laptop & ; AMD platform in the form of Ryzen 7 5800H processor. The chip contains eight cores with the ability to process up to 16 instruction threads. The base clock speed is 3.2 GHz, the maximum & ; 4.4 GHz. The video engine uses an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 discrete graphics accelerator with 8GB of memory. An opto-mechanical keyboard with individual RGB key illumination is included.

The maximum configuration includes 64GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and two M.2 SSDs with up to 2TB capacity each. HDMI, Ethernet, USB Type-C and USB Type-A interfaces are present. The laptop weighs 2.1 kg and is powered by a 93.4W·h battery. The laptop runs the Ubuntu operating system: the price starts at around 1,600 euros. If desired, it is also possible to order a version with the Windows 10 software platform. Slimbook expects to deliver the new product in May;
