Gigabyte has announced that some of its motherboard models on the Intel Z790 chipset for Raptor Lake processors have gained support for Intel XMP 3.0 profiles to automatically overclock DDR5 memory to effective frequencies of 8000 and even 8333 MHz.

A set of memory modules overclocked manually to an effective frequency of 9300 MHz demonstrated the ability to run at CL46-58-58-62-120 timings on Z790 Aorus Tachyon motherboard.
Automatically overclocked with Intel XMP 3.0 profiles, DDR5-8000 RAM set was tested with CL36-45-45-75-120 timings on Z790 Aorus Master board.
The DDR5-8333 overclocking profile (shown in the picture above) on the Z790 Aorus Xtreme motherboard passed the test with CL38-48-48-78-126 timings.

Computex 2022 is in hybrid format and TechPowerUp got a chance to see live the motherboards that Gigabyte prepares for upcoming Ryzen 7000 processors.

Gigabyte has unveiled its new BRIX Extreme series of compact nettops. These mini-PCs are based on AMD Ryzen 5000U hybrid processors.

The manufacturer will offer three processor models for the BRIX Extreme: the quad-core Ryzen 3 5300U, the six-core Ryzen 5 5500U or the eight-core Ryzen 7 5700U. For these chips, the TDP rating is 15 watts. All three are based on Zen 2 architecture. The Gigabyte BRIX Extreme & ; is the first system to use AMD's new RZ608 networking module with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless standards. It is manufactured by AMD together with MediaTek.

The compact PC also includes up to 7 USB 3.2 connectors, one 2.5 Gbit LAN socket, M.2 PCIe 3.0 connector for NVMe storage, two HDMI 2.0a, one mini-DisplayPort 1.4 and one USB Type-C with DisplayPort 1.4 support. This July AMD has announced Ryzen Threadripper PRO series processors, sWRX8 processor socket and its own WRX80 chipset. Gigabyte's new low-cost laptops are expected to go on sale next month. They will be unveiled in January at CES 2021 right after the announcement of new AMD mobile processors and next-generation NVIDIA graphics cards.

The G5 series & ; are 15-inch laptops with state-of-the-art Intel Core 10th generation processors (Comet Lake-H). The devices will get Core i7-10870H or Core i5-10500H CPUs. In addition, the G5 will offer a 1080p panel at up to 240Hz. This gaming laptop will be equipped with GeForce RTX 3060 Ampere graphics with 6GB of GDDR6 video memory.

The 17-inch G7 model will get a Core i7-10870H processor. Later, Gigabyte may add additional options with other CPUs. The 17.3-inch IPS display will be able to offer a 144Hz refresh rate. The G7 will also use GeForce RTX 3060 mobile graphics.

Finally, the Gigabyte A7 model is quite interesting. It is the first laptop with a Ryzen processor from this manufacturer and one of the first in the world to reportedly get the latest Ryzen 7 5800H Cezanne processor (eight Zen 3 cores, 16 threads and Vega graphics). Despite the previous announcement, Gigabyte was the first motherboard manufacturer to release BIOS updates based on AGESA Combo-AM4 1.1.0.0 microcode for motherboards with X470 and B450 chipsets. This ensured compatibility with the latest AMD Ryzen 5000 processors based on Zen 3 architecture. No later than January 2021, all manufacturers are going to perform the same procedure with the 400-series chipset.
