
ASUS has announced the Chromebook Flip CM5 (CM5500) & ; its first hybrid laptop running Chrome OS using AMD's Zen architecture processor.
The computer features the Ryzen 5 3500U chip (four cores; up to 3.7GHz) with Radeon graphics. Up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM is available, while data storage is handled by an M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD with up to 512GB capacity.
The 15.6" touchscreen display features Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080 dots). The screen cover can be rotated 360 degrees to provide full screen tablet functionality. And the operation with a stylus is supported.
It comes with dual Harmon Kardon-certified speakers, a backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 6 Wi-Fi, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C and HDMI 1.4 connectivity. Measuring 357.6 × 240.8 × 18.5 mm, weight & ; 1.89 kg.
The cover is grey with a velvety soft-touch texture in the palm of your hand. The W, A, S and D keys are marked in bright orange. Battery life is claimed to be up to 10 hours on a single charge;
