GeForce RTX 4080 in real-world scenarios consumes much less than the claimed 320W

The power consumption of GeForce RTX 4080 in real-world scenarios was less than the claimed in its specifications.
The new GeForce RTX 4080 compared to previous-generation NVIDIA graphics cards, showing greater power efficiency with the new Ada Lovelace architecture, NVIDIA said in a press release.
For example, at the same maximum power consumption (Total Graphics Power, TGP), which is 320W, in real-world scenarios GeForce RTX 4080 consumption is much lower than the predecessor GeForce RTX 3080.Declared power consumption characteristics of graphics cards at NVIDIAIn typical workloads the power consumption GeForce RTX 3080 meets the declared 320W.
Conversely, the GeForce RTX 4080 averages 251W, or 78% of the advertised specification, according to NVIDIA.
It is also noteworthy that GeForce RTX 4080 is much more productive and efficient than the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, whose average gaming power consumption is 389W at the claimed maximum value of 450W.
22 gaming tests at 4K, 1440p and 1080p resolution, as well as video testing in video playback mode with AV1 codec gave GeForce RTX 4080 some conclusions about its high power efficiency.
Actual gaming power consumption of GeForce RTX 4080On Control, Cyberpunk 2077, Forza Horizon 5 and Guardians of the Galaxy Metro Exodus in 4K resolution with ray tracing and DLSS scaling enabled, the GeForce RTX 4080 consumed less than 300W.
The lowest consumption is observed at Full HD resolution.
Independent reviews of the new graphics card show similar results.
